Double Oak Farm

Double Oak FarmACLT is very proud of our volunteer run Double Oak Farm, located next to our North Side Trailhead in Prince Frederick, Maryland. More than 4500 pounds of naturally grown, fresh vegetables were donated to local Calvert County food pantries during 2015.

We also enjoyed teaching guests to grow their own healthy food! Our EDGE Garden (Educational Demonstration Garden Experiment) - which demontrates a dozen easy at home natural growing techniques among other earth friendly gardening examples - offered tours to garden clubs, school groups and farmers market visitors. In addition, it produced a cabbage the size of a basketball, a sunflower larger than a hubcap, and a 26lb sweet potato!

We look forward to 2016 and hope to see you in the garden!

Please consider making a donation designated to support ACLT's Double Oak Farm and EDGE Garden. Thank you!

The American Chestnut Land Trust (ACLT) is located in Calvert County, Maryland, an hour's drive from both Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. We invite you to explore ACLT's self-guided hiking trails on your own, join one of our guided canoe trips, or attend one of the activities included in our Calendar of Events to experience our beautiful 3,000-acre preserved area for yourself. We also invite you to get involved in protecting the most pristine watershed on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay by volunteering and becoming a member of the land trust!
