21 - Guided Winter Hike at Double Oak
Join ACLT for a strenuous guided hike on the Goldstein Bay Farm Trail. This strenuous hike will feature hilly terrain and beautiful panoramic views of Parkers Creek and the Chesapeake Bay. Meet at Double Oak Farm at 1:30pm until 3:30pm.

14 - Hiking Trail Maintenance Day
Hiking Trail Maintenance Day - Join us as the spring hiking season begins and we clear and maintain some of the ACLT trails from 9am to 12 noon. Volunteers needed for chainsawing, post hole digging,scrub clearing, sign placement, etc. Work locations to be announced. Water, equipment and lunch will be provided. Please register in advance or call the office to RSVP.

4 - Canoe Guide Training
Enjoy canoeing or kayaking? Ever considered being a volunteer canoe guide for the ACLT? Every year from spring until fall the ACLT hosts guided canoe trips on Parkers Creek. Trips are scheduled at different times of the day on Saturday or Sunday (depending on the tide) and take about three hours. Join us for this canoe guide training at Warrior's Rest Nature Preserve: Canoe trip for guides 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (lunch provided) and training 1 - 2 p.m. Learn to be a canoe guide on Parkers Creek for the 2009 canoe season. Dress in appropriate clothing to go paddling.

18 - Spring Guided Hike on Gravatt East
This will be a leisurely guided walk to view spring wildflowers and early migratory birds. Bring your binoculars and meet at 9:00 a.m. sharp at the ACLT Barn, Scientists' Cliffs Rd., Port Republic, MD. Hike will last until approx. 11 a.m.

25 - Earth Day Celebration
Volunteer crews will be working along roadsides and on selected projects. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the ACLT South side trailhead barn off of Scientists' Cliffs Road, Port Republic. Many volunteers are needed. Volunteers will be rewarded with a picnic at 12 noon. Come join us!

3 - Parkers Creek Celebration at Double Oak Farm
Join us from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for an afternoon of fun activities for the whole family, in celebration of the natural and cultural resources of Calvert County. Nature-inspired craft activities, guided hikes, a scavenger hunt, a fossil hunt, and a tractor-pulled hayride at Double Oak Farm in Prince Frederick.

30 - Parkers Creek to Flag Ponds Kayak Trip
Paddle from Parkers Creek to Flag Ponds along the Calvert Cliffs shoreline. Join ACLT and the Calvert County Natural Resource Division on this 7 1/2 mile journey. Call Battle Creek Nature Center at 410-535-5327 to register. Limited to 25 people.

15 - Vine Vindicator Training Day
Learn to recognize non-native invasive plant species and properly remove them to improve habitat for unique and rare native species. Training will include an overview of the problem of invasive plants, in depth identification of common species in our watersheds and some hands-on training on removal techniques. Part of the session will be in the conference room and part will be outdoors so dress for the weather. Please let the office know if you are planning to attend.

26 - Silent Auction and Dinner Celebration
For this event, ACLT members and their guests are invited to enjoy locally grown, seasonally fresh food. They can bid at the silent auction, enjoy music by a local band, and generally enjoy the evening. Due to limited seating, the purchase of tickets in advance is necessary for ACLT members and guests.
